Being A Lost Soul Is Not A Laughing Matter
By Pastor Jeff Arnold, Gainesville, FL

The Lord Jesus seemingly went to great lengths to challenge the hearers of that day to do EVERYTHING possible NOT TO FIND THEMSELVES LOST FOREVER. In our present day, many folks attending church seem to act and think that being LOST is not REALITY and that GOD IS JUST TOO GOOD to allow such a thing to happen. I warn all of you; God will not forsake HIS PROMISE OF FAIR JUDGMENT over HIS OWN KINDNESS. It is very evident that God wants all to be SAVED, but He is not going to CHANGE THE RULES for a generation that thinks it can LIVE LOOSE OR UNGODLY and still be READY FOR HIS COMING.

I Believe In God, I Just Don’t Serve Him

During the day, I felt the LORD give this short sentence to me: People believe in GOD, but they choose not to SERVE HIM. As I was musing on this, my mind went to work. I feel our society is so cursed by this concept that many folks attend various church functions without giving GOD a second look or thought; business-as-usual, never allow GOD in any way to interfere with whatever one wishes and make sure HE IS NOT PERMITTED TO TELL US HOW TO LIVE, WHAT TO DO WITH OUR MONEY OR TIME…. Believing, but not serving seems to be more PREVALENT than I first realized. We, too, have many folks that seem to embrace the same idea; BELIEVE, BUT DON’T EVER GET SERIOUS AND SERVE. Ask yourself right now this question: “AM I SERVING GOD, OR JUST BELIEVING IN GOD?”

How many times have we comforted or been comforted by this rather sarcastic phrase? When words are sent like arrows, and unguarded hearts are thrust through with the pain, we take some comfort in the counter attack of, “what else would you expect from them? Just consider the source!” Recently, I was on the receiving end of such an arrow. Someone close to me said the words, “Well, consider the source” and the Lord stopped me right there and the word ‘consider’ jumped out.

Yes, I will consider! In fact, in the light of much mercy, sarcasm melts with the heat of God’s love. If I am to really ‘consider’ the person that threw the hurtful remarks, I must ponder, think, and take some time. Consideration even tends to courtesy and compassion for the sharp-tongued offender! How much do they hurt? What level of frustration plagues their day? Have they cried their deep tears lately?

Evangelism On Purpose – by F. Joe Ellis

Effectively communicating vision is one of the most important functions of leadership. Just making a vision believable, however, is not enough—it must be understood as necessary. When a vision is truly God given, there are several key components that come with it.

1. It will create a strong sense of urgency and purpose. Urgency is the true igniter behind purpose, and all progressive planning and action. Urgency motivates people to be willing to make changes, moving out of their comfort zone.

2. It will be bigger than your present ability and resources. Just ask the twelve apostles when Jesus told them to feed five thousand men, plus women and children, with two small fish and five loaves of bread. (Matthew 14:16)

The Valley Of Vision
by Linda Schreckenberg

“And the word of the Lord was published
throughout all the region”

It was through the medium of writing the Apostle Paul reached a continent in two years. The North American continent can be reached by the same method if we will embrace the vision of the power of the pen. When the Lord began to unfold his vision of writing his Word in local newspapers, the possibility of reaching multitudes in months was so vast, it was overwhelming to my normal reasoning capabilities. He had taught the multitudes by the sea long before he filled the Upper Room with the Holy Ghost experience. He had taught the people how to live, how to forgive, how to treat their enemies, and how to love the Lord God with all their heart long before the Holy Ghost fell.

Let God Arise And His Enemies Be Scattered
By Pastor Jeff Arnold, Gainesville, FL

THE TIME HAS COME for this church to get on our faces before GOD and desire that HE BEGIN to work among all of us, for without THE MIRACLES, signs, and wonders, we have nothing to offer the LOST OR SICK. I know I have been on a crusade of late, but I am more convinced than ever; WITHOUT THE SUPERNATURAL ACTING among us, we have nothing to verify THE GOSPEL TRUTH WE HAVE BEEN DECLARING.

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me…

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me…
By Larry Schoonover, Puyallup, WA

The apostle Paul in writing to the church at Corinth , communicated his desire to be with them (the church at Corinth ), but was not sure it was in the plan of God. He expressed his desire to remain at Ephesus until the Feast of Pentecost and that he discerned that God had given him an effectual open door there.

We often relegate our points of evangelism by a regional location that we have determined to be our assigned geographical area much like the franchise business concept. Grant it, we are able to associate and fellowship effectively when we are in close proximity, but often close the door to the idea that God would send us to an individual of his choosing and in the working of His ultimate plan. The apostles in scripture were sent to people and individuals which responded to the gospel and were born into the kingdom of God . Some of them became elders or pastors in some local congregations or assemblies that were risen up, and some of them served in other offices of the body or were used in some form of the five-fold ministry. The apostles rarely stayed in one place very long because they were exercising a ministry of being sent.

The Path Ahead Is Full Of Yesterday
By Pastor Jeff Arnold, Gainesville, FL

As the people of Israel, we, too, now stand upon a great place: the end and the beginning together. Like them, we, too, have yet to walk the untrodden path that lies ahead, but like them, we can now look back into yesterday and know that HE who hath called us OUT now calls us ONWARD. The God who has been so good to us, providing supplies, strength, and the direction for our trek, will not leave us to face the future by ourselves.

Purpose Driven, or Spirit Led?
By Joel Hart, Puyallup, WA

(This writing was born out of
prayer and a study through the book of Acts.
I feel it necessary to note that I have not read any of the popular
“Purpose Driven” books.  This
letter is not meant to be an endorsement for or a rebuttal toward those
books or the authors, as I know nothing about either. I did not set out to
write anything on any subject, much less this one.

Utterance

Utteranceby Larry Schoonover

One of the very first actions of God that we read about in the Old Testament is the act of speaking out. The desire of the spirit of God was manifest through utterance when the scripture declares, “God said.”
Whatever the form, we conclude that there was a thought of God that expressed itself through speaking out.
That spoken utterance produced something. We call it creation. God said, “Let there be light, and there was light.”
