The Power Of One

“Nothing that I can do will change the structure of the universe,
but by raising my voice, I can help the greatest of all causes,
goodwill toward men and peace on earth.”

Albert Einstein   1920

She was a young black woman named Rosa Parks.  She simply refused to give up her seat to a white person, something unheard of in her day.  Yet, she changed the course of an entire nation in its attitude of discrimination.  Today, she is honored by Presidents, and recognized in this nation as a woman of voice.  She was only one voice, but she changed a nation forever!

One young and rebellious woman’s lifestyle affected the modesty of the women in America in the twenties.  The power of her voice is evident in the fashions and cosmetic industry, yet she was virtually an unknown figure.  Most women have never taken the time to read about Louise Brooks, the silent film star of the Jazz Age, the one voice that affected the women of an entire nation, and perhaps the world.

It was the voice of one, Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. that brought the world of entertainment into this nation.  He was born in 1869 and married a French-born actress named Anna Held in 1897.  At her prompting, he formed a group of dancers called Ziegfeld’s Follies in 1907.  This group was the first stage production in the United States .  From that group, the rest is history, bringing us to the Hollywood of today.

The voice of one lawyer attracted the attention of another lawyer with the same ideals, and the ACLU was born.  Today that entity has been responsible for fighting against references to God in our nation.  The voice of one can be a powerful force.

The voice of one obscure woman was successful in removing prayer from schools in America .  Today, all that remains of her are a few bones to tell her story, however it was her voice that was effective.  She accomplished her mission in affecting children throughout our nation.

Sadly, but certainly not the last voice that will be heard, was the voice of the woman that challenged our Supreme Court.  One woman deciding she did not want her child to be born, convinced the highest court in the land to make a decision in favor of abortion, a law that is now protected by our courts and legislation.  In the years since 1973, over 38 million babies were aborted in this nation.  We should never underestimate the power of one voice!

Throughout the eons of time, in the pages of history, the power of one voice has brought about drastic, far-reaching consequences in the thinking processes of men.  One voice echoed loud enough and long enough until ideals and mindsets were changed.  It was one vote, one voice that put Adolph Hitler into power!  It was one vote; one voice that decided our national language should be English and not German.  It was always one voice that was responsible for inventing or improving the world in which we live.  The power of one voice is astounding!

Why mention all of that?  The reason is to make us aware of the power each of us possesses in making a difference where the propagation of the glorious truth of the Gospel is concerned.  God always used a minority to bring about his mighty acts!  There was one Abraham, one Moses, one Gideon, one Deborah, one King David, one Esther, one Samuel, one Daniel, and the voice of one crying in the wilderness.  The list goes on and on.  The Apostle Peter was one who preached and 3,000 were added to the church!  The Apostle Paul was one who affected an entire continent in only two years!  It was to one John the Revelator God gave the book of The Revelation to on the Isle of Patmos.

It is time to stretch forth our tents and enlarge our vision!  The Lord is able to use ordinary people to bring about his purpose.  The God we serve always follows his servants’ words with action on a grand scale, displaying his mighty power with signs following!  He promised to pour out of his Spirit upon all flesh in the last days!  He said in his Word the Gospel would be published and preached in all nations and then the end would come.  It is time to do just that, in every village, every town, every state, wherever we may be.  He has raised up visionaries who will take this nation for his Truth.  They are well able to take the land!

While in prayer over nine years ago, I asked the Lord how we would ever reach the multitudes of this present generation in so little time, with this beautiful gospel of truth.  In that moment of tears and sincerity before his face, he instructed me to write.  The following years of his hand upon my pen became cherished precious moments of his revealing himself to the people around me, everyday people, wonderful friends and strangers as well.  He opened so many doors for his purpose, and thousands are reading his truth every month.  People in other states as far away as California have been taught through his awesome plan.  At his prompting, the book “Ancient Secrets Of The Writer’s Inkhorn” was born.  He showed me that before the Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost, he had stood on the banks of the river and taught the people, preparing their hearts.  The harvest is the result of planting, and watering and he will give the increase.  He promised  “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10,11

I close with the following quote as my statement of purpose and to inspire other writers to enlarge their vision, until he comes in clouds of great glory;

Vision

  “We can broaden our vision & learn from the past.  The history of the world
contains the names of all people who have conquered in great power….all of them bringing about the plan of God for Nations, Kingdoms, and Peoples”
