The Harvest Awaits Our Sowing Of Promises
By Pastor Jeff Arnold, Gainesville, FL

Most folks know it is totally impossible to reap a harvest where NO SEED HAS BEEN SOWN.  None, in their right mind, would believe that something would be coming up when there has been nothing THAT WENT DOWN.  “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground, it abides alone.”  JESUS SAID that to show us a principle:  Without sowing there cannot be any reaping.  We must SOW, if we really expect to REAP.  That truth impacts many areas of our lives, to say the least.

FAITH PLANTS PROMISES.  DOUBTS DIG THEM UP; AND REASON RAGES AGAINST FAITH, TRUST, and BELIEF.  We must understand that behind every promise we are asked to BELIEVE AND ACT upon, is the ALMIGHTINESS of GOD, HIMSELF.  He, alone, has created the entire MATERIAL WORLD; HE is the AUTHOR of all GALAXIES, PLANTS AND PROMISES. Our faith comes from God; our finishing, also, comes from God.  He stands behind every one of the PROMISES, shouting to each of us, “I WILL KEEP MY WORD, I WILL DO ALL I HAVE PROMISED!”  So the harvest is totally guaranteed, but we are held liable to SOW THE SEED and make sure we KEEP IT BURIED AND WELL WATERED.

TRUE FAITH is usually preceded by FEELINGS that challenge the promise—pointing to some report, fact or opinion that is supposed to carry the SAME WEIGHT as THE PROMISE OF GOD.  FAITH is simply a LEAP INTO THE DARK, WHICH ALLOWS US TO ARRIVE IN THE LIGHT, A JOURNEY INTO THE UNSEEN THAT LEADS US TO TRUE LIGHT.

The sowing of promises causes SELF-RELIANCE to die, REASON TO BE OUTRAGED, FLESH TO CRINGE and GOD TO BE HAPPY AND SHORTLY GLORIFIED.

JONAH prayed in faith, even though he didn’t feel anything but trouble, saw nothing to encourage his faith, but HELD FAST TO HIS CONFIDENCE without any EVIDENCE to verify it.  Let us SOW OUR FUTURE HARVEST BY FAITH….
