JESUS WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD—THAT'S GREAT
By Pastor Jeff Arnold, Gainesville, FL
I read the other day about Jesus doing good and the writer concluded; “SOME FOLKS JUST GO ABOUT….” As we again enter into a New Year, may each one of us take a fresh look inside ourselves and then outside and see if we are going about doing good, or just going about. It becomes very easy during this time of the year to get bogged down with things; shopping, card send¬ing, calling or what-have-you. May God help all of us to DO GOOD. Not just give advice, but rather show forth the GOD that lives in all of us in a fresh, good way. We are told to do GOOD WORKS, so those around us may SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER….
We must look inside our own makeup and see if our personal agendas are in sync with the LORD'S. Seeing and searching for any and all who need A DISPLAY OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. I know I want to do good, but sometimes I get so busy with life and things, I simply just rush through the various situations and never leave a BLESSING BEHIND. One writer made a super point: he simply stated, "NOTHING WOULD EVER BE ATTEMPTED OR EVEN ACCOMPLISHED, IF ALL THE OBJECTIONS HAD TO BE OVERCOME FIRST.” I just wonder how JESUS viewed each day HE lived in and what was seen that could be a possible BARRIER to A BLESSING.
Impossible is usually attached to just about everything we seek to do; we must fight with our faith and not allow the VOICE OF FEAR to deter us from ATTEMPTIMG THE IMPOSSIBLE. Jesus told us we could move the mountain, if we believe and not doubt. That last little part seems to be the hindrance to lots of answers. We all want to believe, but the LITTLE DOUBT seems to mess up lots of things. May GOD help each of us to really GO ABOUT DOING GOOD. That is the best way.
