Purpose Driven or Spirit Led
By Joel Hart, Puyallup, WA

In the last few years the words “Purpose Driven” have become a slogan or catch phrase for many church congregations.  There has developed in our nation purpose driven churches, purpose driven lives, days, weeks and months of purpose.  Individuals and congregations have been consumed by “purpose.”  Does the Church have purpose?  Absolutely!  Is the Church to be driven?  Not scripturally.  Is this merely semantics or is it a subtle deception?  Let’s compare the “purpose driven church” to the “Spirit led church” in the book of Acts.  more here...

The Path Ahead Is Full Of Yesterday
By Jeff Arnold, Gainesville, FL

As the people of Israel, we, too, now stand upon a great place: the end and the beginning together. Like them, we, too, have yet to walk the untrodden path that lies ahead, but like them, we can now look back into yesterday and know that HE who hath called us OUT now calls us ONWARD. The God who has been so good to us, providing supplies, strength, and the direction for our trek, will not leave us to face the future by ourselves.    more here...

The Cultural Gap
By Larry Schoonover, Puyallup, WA

As I sat there watching a video of one of our General Conference services in Toronto, I was taken back by the wonderful singing and exhortations to praise the Lord by some of our precious Pentecostal leaders. It was all so familiar to me of course it should be, I have been a part of this organization of Pentecostal preachers for over twenty-two years. The thought came to me that some of our mannerism, while completely understood among our own rank and file, could be viewed as very dated and maybe even obscure by those looking from the outside in. While the world around us races ahead in progress and change, there appears to be a growing gap between the past and present that cries for change in all of us to accommodate the need for ministry to the world of this present day...   more here...

The Nautical Hour - by Tony Bailey  $10.00
Before the days of satellite guiding systems, navigation on the open sea took a great deal of skill and understanding. In order to point the ship in the desired heading the Navigator had to know more than where he desired to go, he had to know the ship's present location. Since no landmarks are visible on the open sea, stable points of reference had to be discovered before the Navigator could accurately triangulate the ship's position.  Order online here!

When Men Pray - by Larry Schoonover  $10.00
From time to time as a Christian, I would sit in services or attend conferences where a dear elder would preach to us concerning the sin of prayerlessness. Each time I would resolve in myself that this was the answer. There were no magical methods or new fangled tools for evangelism that the church needed, and none that I personally lacked to lead my family as the head of our home. It became obvious to me that there were no shortcuts to a truly consecrated life and walk with God. There was no getting around it; I would have to learn to pray... Order online here!
